Virtual Excursions Australia is supporting schools across Australia by providing discounted live virtual events available via DART Learning. Aunty Kim, a proud Joondaburri saltwater woman, will lead your students through the beautiful Badu wetlands at Sydney Olympic Park, sharing knowledge of Culture. Students will learn how natural resources were used sustainably by First Nations peoples for millennia. Aunty Kim will talk about how weaving is integral to her Culture and show the students a woven eel trap, with a design that was engineered perfectly thousands of years ago, to ensure sustainable fishing! Aunty Kim will finish up by demonstrating the traditional practice of string making and help the students make friendship bracelets. SciFest 2022: Ocean Science Quiz

The Australian National Maritime Museum challenges you to test your science general knowledge with interactive Kahoot! Quiz to celebrate National Science Week. Year 3 – S2 Year 4 – S2 Year 5 – S3 Year 6 – S3 Year 7 – S4 Year 8 – S4 SciFest 2022: Ocean Science Quiz Kids of all ages and their families can verse each other or join together in teams for this fun challenge of interesting science facts. During this virtual session, we will explore lifecycles, diets and amazing adaptations like camouflage. Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! with Dhunghutti Humpty

Live Classroom event for Early Learning and Kindergarten. Sing and learn what Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! means in Aboriginal Language with the Dhunghutti Humpty. Preschool/Early Childhood Kinder – ES1 Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! with Dhunghutti Humpty This 40 minute program invites teachers to join a live event where Aboriginal artist and educator, Dorsey Smith – along with his co-host Jo Tuscano teach children how to sing in Dhunghutti.

The children learn how Dhunghutti Humpty Dumpty fell out of the tree and how it was Humpty’s mob who showed up to help him get up and stand up and be put back together again.

The children learn Aboriginal words in Dhunghutti, they learn the meaning of falling and breaking and then getting up and showing up again. They learn it is a team effort. This is a fun event involving storytelling, ceremony, art, symbolism, metaphor and song. It is a fusion of western and Aboriginal storytelling. Our youth, their future As part of the Powerhouses 100 Climate Conversations weekly podcast, selected innovators have presented simple positive messages to schools about what can be done to save our planet.

In this episode meet Dr Rebecca Huntley, a social researcher and climate activist who studies why we think the way we do about climate change for corporate Australia. Knowing that 25% of Australia’s youth are alarmed by climate change while deniers make up around 1%, she provides strategies that children can employ to engage, enlighten and modify thinking all the way to the corporate boardroom.
