Intercultural Workshop

This program brings together year 5 and year 6 students from diverse cultures and backgrounds to spend a day engaging in activities that focus on tolerance, friendship, optimism and intercultural understanding. Year 5 – S3 Year 6 – S3 Intercultural Workshop Students will learn from Museum experts about how the Museum shares important lessons through objects and storytelling. Students will then turn to this task themselves, working with their new friends form different schools on an exhibition project, bringing objects and stories together to share an important message of their choice. Students will share their group projects at the end of the day in what promises to be meaningful and uplifting conclusion to a formative day of discovery. Unleash the artist within and embark on a journey of self-expression through the lens of a smartphone! In this workshop explore self-portraiture, guided by renowned contemporary artist, Lucky Lartey. Year 5 – S3 Year 6 – S3 Year 7 – S4 Year 8 – S4 Smart Phone Self Portraits with Lucky Lartey (On Demand for all of term 4) Self-portraiture is an art form that goes beyond capturing an image; it’s an introspective exploration of identity, emotions, and unique perspective on the world.

Gone are the days where extravagant and expensive equipment was required to make beautiful art. In this workshop Lucky will guide students in creating beautiful photographs using the smart phone they already have in their school bag!

Lucky will share his best tips and tricks for creating artful images that express the unique personality of each student. She was born in Indonesia, grew up in Singapore and currently lives in Brisbane, Australia. She lives with her two dogs, who sometimes scare her by barking at nothing in the corners of rooms. Remy is also the award-winning creator of Pie in the Sky, Fly on the Wall, Pawcasso and the Surviving the Wild series.

In this talk we will uncover the secrets of Remy’s creative process and dive into the world of words and art. This is your chance to introduce your class to the brilliant mind behind the magic. Dive into Remy’s captivating stories, explore her artistic process, and get ready to be inspired!

120 Nations, 3,881 athletes (2,891 on foot, 990 on wheelchairs) & 551 Events in 18 Sports.

Australia ranked 1st with 63 Gold, 39 Silver, 47 Bronze and it’s no wonder having the games in our athlete’s backyard meant many friends and families were able to be present to cheer & witness their kin compete.
