ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Join award-winning Gunai Author and Poet, Kirli Saunders for Red Room Poetry’s short digital workshop on poetic devices. Develop your writing skills and create poetry to enter into the Red Room Poetry Object Competition! Poetry Object is Australasia’s largest free poetry-writing competition for young people and their teachers. Poetry Object ignites imaginations by inviting poems inspired by treasured, curious, everyday, extraordinary, interplanetary, or talismanic objects.
Delivered via DART, in partnership with NSW DOE and Red Room Poetry. Students in Years K-6 will sharpen skills in creative writing by developing a range of poetic techniques including alliteration, imagery, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia and simile.
