Who is the best bird caller in NSW Public Schools? if you missed the live session on 6 September, 2023 you can view the recording now and enter the Bird Olympics.


ACTIVITY OUTLINE:

Do you know what birds are found in your local area?

Would you like to learn some interesting facts about birds- their behaviour, their needs, their calls?

Session 1: OnDemand View the recording now.  During this educational and fun webinar students will learn about birds, participate in a quiz and find out how to enter the Bournda  Bird Olympics in term 4.

Session 2: (26/10/23) Students can sumbit the best bird call (limit fo 3 per school) before 20th October. Remeber to book into the second session now

Pre Event Requirements

Teachers/ parents can encourage students to observe and identify birds in the local area. Students will be asked in the session to name some birds that they have observed.

Post Event Requirements

What do teachers need to do after Lesson 1?

  • Training your bird callers/ Organise your school Bird Olympics event during Week 9, 10, Term 3  and/or Week 1, Term 4

  • Hold your Bird Olympics Event during National Bird Week 16th-22nd October 2023. Week 2, Term 4. Participate in the Great Aussie Bird Count

  • Submit video of your winning student bird callers by 20th October 2023. Maximum of 3 entries per school

  • Go to Bournda Bird Olympics 2023 site for more information and resources
  • Remember to book into Lesson 2 (26th October) to find out about the results and the Judges Choices.
