ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Exclusively for schools participating in The Arts Unit Home program.
This virtual excursion provides a unique opportunity for students to develop an understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander collection of artworks held at the Art Gallery of NSW. Introducing the idea of curatorial practice, students have a rare opportunity to examine and discuss Aboriginal artworks displayed at AGNSW. Home, an expansive 3-term program, connects Aboriginal artists, students, and teachers with local, regional galleries and the Art Gallery of NSW to explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait art, cultural practice and art making. The program includes professional development for teachers followed by the support to deliver a bespoke visual arts program for Stage 3-4 students culminating in a professional exhibition opportunity at your regional gallery.
