Online professional learning: Critical Minerals; how, where, and why? (Teacher)
Mar
Join us for an afternoon of exploring real geoscience data and come away with ideas and activities for classroom use.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Critical minerals are a key resource for the growth of green technologies; they provide the ingredients needed for modern everyday items from EV batteries to hip replacements. Learn more about these vital resources and how can you grow student understanding of the challenges of finding enough for the future demand.
This online teacher professional learning session uses the Geoscience Australia data portal to introduce and explore critical minerals, what they are, where they are and what they are used for. You will be shown how to access 2D data layers to overlay and compare to understand where critical minerals deposits may be found. Participants will receive a ready-to-use classroom activity resource.
