Online PD for Science in the Classroom (Teacher)
Discover how to run simple science experiments in the primary classroom using easy to get materials.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Learn how to identify variables in a variety of hands-on simple experiments that you can use straight away in your classroom. You will actively participate in hands-on experiments in real-time with us, this is not a PowerPoint presentation or a series of videos.
During this session, your teachers will learn about how to turn materials available in the local supermarket into engaging and worthwhile classroom experiments. These experiments have been classroom-tested and have shown to be highly effective in increasing student understanding. All materials presented have direct syllabus links to both the ACARA and NSW K to 10 Science Syllabus.
For Proficient Teachers
Teach science aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
- 2.1.2 Proficient Level – Apply knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area to develop engaging teaching activities.
- 6.2.2 Proficient Level – Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice, targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.
Use this course to attribute teacher identified professional development hours to maintain accreditation.

The cost is $150 inc. GST per site involved (to keep your costs low this session may have another school involved).
If you want this as an exclusive session with just your teachers and us the cost will be $300 inc. GST.

Technology and Materials Requirements
We will work with you to find the best date and your preferred conference platform (we prefer Zoom and will use this as a default)
Please let us know dates and times that fit you and we will create a session that fits your schedule.
After your booking is finalised, we will send out a materials list that details the experiments that you will run in your classroom. These inexpensive science materials are readily accessible in any supermarket and make the video conference more interactive and engaging for students. Please check these details carefully.
