With World Cup excitement in the air, join children’s author Kristin Darell as she takes you inside the exciting world of her Football Fever fiction series featuring your favourite Australian football stars. She’ll share her tips and tricks for creating fun and interesting characters, then you’ll join forces to create your own special football team!
Students will need paper and a pencil for this workshop.
About the books
Football Fever is an action-packed junior fiction series about six girls, six boys and a crazy dog who are all passionate about football. They play together for the Merridale Football club in a team called the Under 11s Merridale Fever. The series follows the team through a football season as they navigate friendships, exciting opportunities, tough choices and big changes in their lives.

Kristin Darell is the author of the exciting junior fiction series Football Fever. After working as a broadcast journalist for more than 20 years, Kristin is now a passionate advocate for children’s literature. She spends her time writing, visiting schools and libraries, and working for the Australian Children’s Laureate Foundation.

Technology and Materials Requirements
This virtual excursion will be held online via Zoom. You will be sent the link to join with your booking confirmation.
Students can connect to our virtual excursions when learning from home. As a teacher, you will only need to register once to receive a link you can share with your students.
During the session, students will be able to ask questions by writing in the chat and they will not share any audio or video. All messages will be visible to the presenters but not to any other students.
When students use the link to join the virtual excursion they may be asked to download Zoom if they don’t already have it installed. They do not need to set up a Zoom account to participate.
Connecting To The Event
This virtual excursion will be held online via Zoom. You will be sent the link to join with your booking confirmation. Please advise us of any cancellations ahead of time to enable another school to fill your space. We are unable to provide technical assistance during the conference so please ensure you have tested your equipment and are comfortable trouble-shooting during the session if necessary.
