Exploring Australia’s Seafloor (Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4)

Our seafloor is vast, fascinating, but relatively unexplored. Learn how marine scientists make maps of the seafloor and what these maps are used for. This webinar also introduces some of the unique and mysterious sea creatures found in the deep ocean.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Join Dr Rachel Przeslawski speaking to upper primary students about her experiences as a marine scientist involved with making maps from ships and discovering the depth, shape and hardness of the sea floor. She explains different uses for such maps and tells us about her love of glass sponges, infauna and bioluminescent animals that live in the deep ocean.
