Celebrate Sea Week with a Marine Scientist! (Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4, Stage 5)
Mar
Join a marine scientist to celebrate the deep blue this SeaWeek!
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
SeaWeek offers a fantastic opportunity to reestablish our connection with the ocean ecosystem and reflect on its profound impact on life on Earth. Despite the multiple layers of human impact on the marine environment, each of us can contribute to safeguarding the ocean by taking conscious steps to protect it.
Joining this virtual incursion will bring us together to celebrate the beauty of the sea. It provides a platform to explore any burning questions about the ocean and its creatures, learn fascinating facts, participate in sea-themed activities, discover the latest in marine plastic pollution research, and gain insights into the current state of our oceans.
This session will be run by Vinuri Silva, a PhD student at the University of Adelaide, researching bacterial communities living on marine plastic pollution in Australia. She has previously researched on microplastic ingestion in fish.
