Book Week 2022: Sue de Gennaro Author/Illustrator Workshop (Early Stage 1, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)

Join Sue de Gennaro as she guides students step-by-step through the process of drawing a character based on her actual illustrations.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Sue de Gennaro is a prolific author and illustrator, having published 20 books! In this session Sue shares her 2020 CBCA Shortlisted picture book, We’re Stuck, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the book was made. Students see the roughs (both writing and illustration), the mistakes, and even the images that never made it into the final draft. Sue will guide students step-by-step through the process of drawing a character based on her actual illustrations.
Students will need a pencil and five pieces of paper for this session.

Technology and Materials Requirements
This virtual excursion will be held online via Zoom. You will be sent the link to join with your booking confirmation.
Students can connect to our virtual excursions when learning from home. As a teacher, you will only need to register once to receive a link you can share with your students.
During the session, students will be able to ask questions by writing in the chat and they will not share any audio or video. All messages will be visible to the presenters but not to any other students.
When students use the link to join the virtual excursion they may be asked to download Zoom if they don’t already have it installed. They do not need to set up a Zoom account to participate.

Please advise us of any cancellations ahead of time to enable another school to fill your space. We are unable to provide technical assistance during the conference so please ensure you have tested your equipment and are comfortable trouble-shooting during the session if necessary.
