From Swamp to Scrub with Greater Sydney Parklands

Orig_ipad_grass_04

Join us on a interactive, science-packed journey from the wetlands of Centennial Parklands to woodlands and scrub of Sydney’s biggest backyard, Western Sydney Parklands. With nine science activities, including adventures to complete on screen and away from the computer, From Swamp to Scrub brings the science behind Sydney’s unique flora, fauna and parks to life, whilst keeping budding scientists engaged and having fun along the way!

Greater Sydney Parklands invites children around the country (5-10 years) and their adult friends and teachers to join our virtual quest From Swamp to Scrub!

By the end of your journey, kids and their adult friends and teachers will be running to the on park Science Week events at Centennial Parklands and Western Sydney Parklands to continue the fun!

  • How do you make a water filter?
  • Who was Australia’s dinosaur
  • Make your own dinosaur puppet
  • How to build your own shelter using a tarp or sticks
  • Snugglepot and Cuddlepie’s important job to disperse seeds across our country
  • Plus much more!

With activities on screen and away from the computer, From Swamp to Scrub will introduce kids to the expansive variety of science, teach them important skills, and show them the fun they can have with science!

This initiative is supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week, an annual celebration that excites the inner scientists in all of us.
