ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
How it works:
We provide a lesson plan and instructional educational videos led by ATYP Teaching Artists, who will talk you through drama and literacy exercises that can be used in your classroom. You can follow along with your class, or watch them for your own professional learning before you teach the lesson.
Activities:
1. Students will create a short improvised scene about going over to a friend’s house, which will frame a discussion about the differences between a Welcome to Country and an Acknowledgement of Country.
Students will:
– Use appropriate language to describe the relationship First Nations People have with their traditional lands.

ATYP On Demand Plus is a digital platform that provides primary educators access to a series of detailed units of work that use Drama and Literacy strategies to teach content and concepts within the Australian Curriculum, F-6.
The program has been developed with academics from The University of Sydney including Professor Emerita Robyn Ewing AM.
We have 8 different units available (see below). These units include instructional educational videos featuring ATYP Teaching Artists that enable non-drama trained teachers and primary generalist teachers to teach the exercises and strategies in the unit. All activities are linked to the Australian curriculum, making it accessible for teachers across Australia to integrate the units and resources into their programs and lessons.
Our Teaching Artists will take you through drama and literacy exercises that can be used in your classroom or for your own professional learning before teaching the lesson.
