Visual arts and perseverance – Creating Murals (Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)
By visual arts strategies to build our perseverance, persistence & endurance, we become better equipped to take on situations & to achieve as much as we can.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Watch & Learn as Emily’s an artist from Studio A guides you through her process in making murals, that can be used in a school, a classroom or even just in individual artworks.
• Murals take persistence and endurance. Teachers and students need to persevere through designing a pattern or theme, thinking about colours around the area, and what to include.
• Using several visual arts strategies within the context of the school community, can develop students’ awareness of possibilities, alternatives, choices and flexibility to know how to overcome this new challenge. Start by allowing students to make a personal connection through exploring their environment for ideas, or experimenting with different patterns.
• Once this connection has been established, and a plan formulated, the process can commence.
