Visual arts and perseverance (Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)

By visual arts strategies to build our perseverance, persistence & endurance, we become better equipped to take on situations & to achieve as much as we can.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Visual arts can help us learn to push ahead, to keep trying, be persistent and to persevere through these situations. Sometimes we need to persevere with different things by working hard and not giving up.
Through watching and learning about Emily’s processes in making murals, it is possible to adapt and transfer some of her key strategies to a variety of contexts.
Emily guides us through her process of creating a mural that can be used in a school, a classroom or even just in individual artworks.
Murals take persistence and endurance. Teachers and students need to persevere through designing a pattern or theme, thinking about colours around the area, and what to include.
Learn how to create a wall mural.
Using several visual arts strategies within the context of the school community, can develop students’ awareness of possibilities, alternatives, choices and flexibility to know how to overcome this new challenge. Start by allowing students to make a personal connection through exploring their environment for ideas, or experimenting with different patterns.
Once this connection has been established, and a plan formulated, the process can commence.
Teacher resources to support this event will be available once a booking has been made.
