A fun and interactive program where students learn about the Westminster system and how democracy developed in Australia, as well as how the Parliament of NSW works and laws are made.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Visit us at our House is a FREE interactive live scheduled program based on the History K–10 NSW Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum: Civics and Citizenship.
Years 5/6 students will learn about the development of democracy in the early colony of NSW, the levels of government and how the bicameral system works to make laws.
The program is run during the school term.

Presenter Bio
Our videoconferencing programs have been delivered by John, an educator and actor for nearly a decade. A trained and highly-experienced teacher, John came to the Parliament with twenty years’ experience delivering engaging and interactive programs to K-12 students in a number of Sydney cultural institutions. We consistently receive very positive feedback from teachers as to his ability to both entertain and convey knowledge to Stage 3 students.

The virtual lesson will be via Zoom. Maximum number of students is 30 to maintain the interactive and hands on experience of the virtual lesson. Please provide individual classroom teacher email contact when making the booking.
