ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Alessia is trying to convince her mum to let her have a dog. She thinks her mum will let her if Alessia can show that she can afford to take care of the dog with her own money. Alessia knows that there are two main options when buying a dog, purchase from a breeder or adopt from the RSPCA. She wants to understand what each option costs and how it affects the kind of dog she can get.

You’ll use the interactive, digital calculators in this challenge to figure out what it really costs to own a pet. Then you’ll calculate a savings plan for Alessia to help her reach her goal. Finally, You’ll need to write a convincing argument that will persuade Alessia to choose the right pet for her needs.
