Stringy Science – How to Make a Rope?

On Demand

Everyone needs a piece of rope – learn how to make strong rope from Australian plants!

Ranger Louise will show you how easy it is to make a strong rope or string from the leaves of our native plants.

Follow her in this short video and see what she forages and start making your own cordage.

All steps are also explained on our activity sheet.

The content will be available 14 August – 11 October.

This program is part of Greater Sydney Parklands’ virtual event From Swamp to Scrub – an initiative supported by the Australian Government as part of National Science Week 2021.
