STEM Workshop – Shipyard Challenge

Sink or float?
Join our virtual shipyard as we design and build some amazing sea-worthy vessels from recycled materials! Experiment with buoyancy, streamlined shapes and mass as we create cargo ships and sailboats. This engaging workshop provides an opportunity for students to respond creatively to real life scenarios and challenges.

Requirements: Technology, Materials and Pre and Post event requirements.
Our sessions are run in Zoom. A Zoom link and suggested materials list will be emailed to teachers once a date and time has been booked with the Science Space Bookings Officer.
Participants will need:
*Computer with internet access, webcam and microphone
*Projector or large screen TV with adequate speaker system for students to see and hear the presenter
*Recycled materials or construction toys (e.g. LEGO, k) if you would like to build along with the presenter
