Special Places
Dec

Special Places is an interactive webinar for ES1 & S1 students that supports the Geography topic, Features of Places, as well as English, Creative Arts and the Cross Curriculum Priority of Sustainability. The webinar focuses on identifying natural and human features of places, and how to ‘care’ for places. During the webinar, students will listen to the text Magic Beach by Alison Lester, create artwork, share information about special places they have visited, and learn how we can all care for different environments. There is a focus on caring for coastal and school environments. A follow-up tally sheet is available for students to practice their geography skills of observing and recording features of their school playground (eg recycling bins, worm farms, solar panels etc), that help support the student’s actions of ‘caring for an environment’.
