Special Places (Early Stage 1, Stage 1)
Oct

This webinar focuses on identifying natural & human features of places, and how to ‘care’ for places. Students will listen to the text ‘Magic Beach’ by Alison Lester, create artwork, share information about special places they have visited, and learn how we can all care for different environments.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Special Places supports the Geography topic, Features of Places, as well as English, Creative Arts and the Cross Curriculum Priority of Sustainability. There is a focus on caring for coastal and school environments. A follow-up tally sheet is available for students to practice their geography skills of observing and recording features of their school playground (eg recycling bins, worm farms, solar panels etc), that help support the student’s actions of ‘caring for an environment’.
