SciFest 2022 – Glass is everywhere at Sydney Zoo! (Early Stage 1, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)
Have you ever wondered where glass might be used at a zoo? Join us for an investigation around Sydney Zoo looking for all the places glass is used every day.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Sydney Zoo is home to 4000 animals of 130+ species, looking after them involves using glass in some obvious and not so obvious places. This short video will take you behind the scenes at Sydney Zoo on our search for glass.
Students will gain an insight into the usefulness of glass in the zoo. Zookeepers will explain how they rely on glass in various contexts and students and be asked to explore their home to find where glass is used or is a component of household items.
