First Nations peoples have over 65,000 years of STEM knowledge. Celebrate Science Week by joining Corey Tutt, CEO of Deadly Science, as he shares some amazing stories of Australia’s first inventions.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Make this Science week special by taking the opportunity to yarn with Corey Tutt OAM, Kamilaroi man, acclaimed author, founder and CEO of DeadlyScience. One of Corey’s passions is to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to consider science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers. First Nations peoples have over 65,000 years of STEM knowledge. They are the first scientists, bakers, engineers, astronomers and more.
Corey would love to share some stories about amazing First Nations inventions. If your students have any questions they are bursting to ask Corey, please send them in and he will do his best to answer as many as he can on the day.

Technology and Materials Requirements
This virtual excursion will be held online via Zoom. You will be sent the link to join with your booking confirmation.
Students can connect to our virtual excursions when learning from home. As a teacher, you will only need to register once to receive a link you can share with your students.
During the session, students will be able to ask questions by writing in the chat and they will not share any audio or video. All messages will be visible to the presenters but not to any other students.
When students use the link to join the virtual excursion they may be asked to download Zoom if they don’t already have it installed. They do not need to set up a Zoom account to participate.

We are unable to provide technical assistance during the conference so please ensure you have tested your equipment and are comfortable trouble-shooting during the session if necessary.
