Online Student Talk – Monetary Policy and Current Economic Conditions (Stage 6, Teacher)
Aug

The Reserve Bank’s public education program has been established to support educators and students to learn more about economics, the role of the RBA and the Australian economy. It features a comprehensive library of economics resources and numerous events throughout the year – all free of charge.
Its Online Student Talks series is offered in February, May and August. Two different presentations are available:
- Monetary Policy and Current Economic Conditions – aimed at Years 11-12 and featuring an RBA economist, who will take students through an explanation of monetary policy and the latest developments in the Australian economy.
- Introduction to Economics – aimed at Years 9-10 and featuring an RBA economist, who will help students to understand what an economy is, the sectors of the Australian economy and the role of the RBA, as well as a glimpse into the benefits of studying economics.
Teachers can book talks on behalf of their class. To book one of these talks, follow the link to the RBA’s Book a Talk page, click on the talk you are interested in and tap ‘Request a booking’. In the week before the talk, you will receive a Zoom link, which you can share with your students if they are logging in from their own devices.
