
News reporting: Virtual Lesson (Stage 3)

Explore what makes a good news report.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Available by request on Thursdays and Fridays during school term
Choose start time: 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am or 11am (NSW time).
In this 45-minute online lesson, students explore the role of a responsible reporter and how to identify authentic news and biased reporting how to differentiate between expert opinion and opinion. They learn about the difference between primary and secondary sources and how to create their own quality news report.
This virtual lesson encourages active engagement and critique, and includes post-lesson resources. All our online programs are delivered via Zoom.
Please note: virtual lessons are open to Victorian regional schools, interstate Australian schools, as well as small and specialist schools only.
