Magical Story Maps (Stage 2, Stage 3)

Put the ‘creative’ back into creative writing — turn a blank piece of paper into a map of your own magical land!
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
In the fantasy novel tradition, students will tell an epic adventure story by creating a hero character to journey across their map, encountering dangerous obstacles and mythical beasts along the way.
Perfect for all students from reluctant writers to budding authors, this virtual excursion will encourage your students to think imaginatively and use a different set of skills to express themselves.
Students will need a pencil and paper for this session.

Technology and Materials Requirements
This virtual excursion will be held online via Zoom. You will be sent the link to join with your booking confirmation.
Students can connect to our virtual excursions when learning from home. As a teacher, you will only need to register once to receive a link you can share with your students.
During the session, students will be able to ask questions by writing in the chat and they will not share any audio or video. All messages will be visible to the presenters but not to any other students.
When students use the link to join the virtual excursion they may be asked to download Zoom if they don’t already have it installed. They do not need to set up a Zoom account to participate.
