Discover the life cycles of various animals. Learn how some babies look similar to the adults, whilst others look different, and how parental care influences how many eggs are laid/babies are born.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
- Welcome and introduction to the Great Barrier Reef, home to a diversity of animals and ecosystems
- Discover the life cycles of a variety of Reef animals
- Compare animals that lay eggs with those that give birth to live young and explore the level of parental care in each
- Discuss how changes in the environment can affect an animal’s life cycle
- Participate in identifying which offspring resemble their parents and which look very different
