Introduction to Kids Helpline & Help Seeking Session (Early Stage 1, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)
Presented by an accredited Kids Helpline counsellor, students can put a face to Australia’s only free, private, and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Our evidence-informed educational sessions provide a safe space to discuss mental health literacy and encourages help-seeking behaviours in primary aged children.
These video sessions can offer students a positive first experience of mental health services, which may help to overcome some common barriers to help-seeking, such as demystifying, reducing stigma and normalising counselling.
In this 11 minute video students will:
– Meet a real life Kids Helpline counsellor you can contact for support
– Understand how to contact Kids Helpline for support
– Understand the role of Kids Helpline and counsellors
– Overcome barriers to help seeking
– Normalise help seeking
TO JOIN IN ON THE FUN:
