Home Program | Virtual artmaking lesson with an Aboriginal artist
Virtual art making lesson with Ngemba artist Andy Snelgar
This interactive art making lesson is for students involved in The Arts Unit Home Program.
Ngemba artist Andy Snelgar creates intricate, sculpted, and carved wooden objects.
Andy’s artworks continue an important and vital Indigenous cultural practice, and they show us how important it is to be connected to Country.
This event gives students and teachers participating in the 2022 Home program the opportunity to work with a professional Aboriginal artist in the creation of an artwork in their own school. Home, an expansive three-term program, connects professional Aboriginal artists, students, and teachers with local regional galleries and the Art Gallery of NSW to explore cultural practice and art making. The program includes professional development for teachers followed by the support to deliver a bespoke visual arts program for Stage 3 students culminating in an exhibition at your regional gallery.
