History LIVE: NAIDOC Week (Stage 2, Stage 3)
Jun

In the lead-up to NAIDOC week, join us to investigate four museum objects that tell stories of recognising injustices, being active and working together.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of First Nations Australians. This year’s theme, “For our Elders” explores the prominent role of community Elders as cultural knowledge holders and leaders across Australian society.
Join us online to explore four fascinating Museum artefacts that carry stories of both injustice and hope. Meet a curator and encounter stories from our collection highlighting some of the incredible ways First Nations and Jewish Australians have worked together to create positive social change.
Special guest, artist Geoff Todd OAM, will hold a Q&A about his painting The River, which explores the work of Elder William Cooper and his protest against the persecution of Jewish people after the infamous Nazi pogrom that became known as Kristallnacht.
