ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Sea Week and Australian Womens History Month is the perfect topical combination this week. We have selected portraits from our collection to explore these themes in their historical context.
The interactive portraiture discussion provides opportunities to develop historical understanding through key concepts, including evidence, continuity and change, cause and effect, perspectives, empathy, significance and contestability. These concepts will be investigated within a particular portrait (and its historical context) to facilitate an understanding of the past and to provide a focus for historical inquiries.
