What do portraits reveal about history?
How do artists capture historical events?
In this history-focused program we will explore portraits as historical sources, investigating time, place, people and artists’ perspectives. Students respond with writing, drawing, and discussion – all the while practicing important skills of visual analysis as they consider the historical value of art and portraiture.
