About the program
Bring your homeschool students to these specially priced virtual excursion sessions. In these special sessions we are allocating bookings to homeschool students only and are bringing the cost down to $10 per student (rather than the usual $65 per session) to make it more affordable for students not in a school class. Using Zoom the sessions will be small and will cross to all the homeschool families who book in a these times.
In this new virtual excursion, your Stage 2 class will connect live with a museum educator and learn about first contacts between Aboriginal peoples and colonists that arrived as part of the First Fleet and aboard other ships in the early years of the colony of New South Wales. Session will also focus on the site of of First Government House at the Museum of Sydney.
Students will examine a range of historical sources including artworks and Aboriginal cultural objects and explore the impact of these new arrivals on the Aboriginal peoples of Sydney and the local environment.
