How can artificial intelligence enhance the learning experience? In this recorded PL session to explore ChatGPT’s potential in education and delve into the controversial side of AI in schools.


ACTIVITY OUTLINE:

In this recorded professional learning session explore ChatGPT and its potential applications in education. Educators will be introduced to ChatGPT and its capabilities, including its ability to understand and respond to natural language questions. 

We will also discuss the controversies surrounding the use of ChatGPT in education such as cheating, plagiarism, and ethical concerns. 

By the end of the session, teachers will have the skills and knowledge to navigate ChatGPT and understand how their students are already using it. Stay ahead of the curve with the latest education technology with this engaging and informative learning experience.

This recorded session is delivered by Michael Kasumovic, founder of Arludo and an Associate Professor in Evolutionary Biology at UNSW who regularly encourages the use of AI in his classroom.

Presenter Bio

Michael Kasumovic is an Associate Professor in Evolutionary Biology at UNSW Sydney and the Founder of Arludo. He is an award-winning researcher, science communicator and educator, with a long track record working with students at the university, secondary and primary levels.
His research ultimately gave rise to Arludo in 2015, which has since developed 30 science-based mobile games for educational purposes, with over 300,000 downloads and 10 million scientific data points collected through student gameplay.
Through Arludo, his mission is to increase interest in STEM topics and improve scientific thinking for students of all genders, ages, and socioeconomic levels.
