Electricity Safety Week Resources

On Demand

Electricity Safety Week is a state-wide program for NSW primary schools designed to raise awareness of the hazards associated with electricity and teach students how to be safe around electricity. Teaching resources are aligned with the NSW syllabus, and supported by free resource packs provided to primary schools statewide with items to engage students in learning about electricity.

Electricity Safety Week 2021 was held 6-10 September but the resources can be used at anytime throughout the school year.

Due to COVID restrictions, Ausgrid has developed three On Demand video presentations delivered by Ausgrid staff to support students, teachers and parents with home learning. We hope this will encourage valuable conversations to keep our kids and community safe when it comes to electricity.

On Demand Videos

The three on demand videos run for approximately 10 minutes each and will be made available from Friday 3 September:

Video One
Meet Ausgrid and some of our team members including Jessica (engineer),  Jonathan (electrical expert), Aaron (health and safety manager) and Alice (electrical engineer). View here.

Video Two
Jonathan will take students through some important electricity safety tips when outside and give students an insight into the types of equipment he needs to use to stay safe around electricity. View here.

Video Three
Aaron will give students some great advice about how to stay safe at home and some dangerous situations they might see. View here.

Or view all three videos together, accessible on our YouTube playlist here.
