Education Week – Stars and Planets

Students investigate our Universe and space exploration techniques in this hands-on workshop. What did the big bang really look like? How do stars work? Which technological developments were necessary to allow astronauts to work and survive outside of Earth’s atmosphere? How do we observe distant galaxies? Why do we visit and study space anyway? Describe the Solar System, galaxies and more.

Students will gain an appreciation of astronomy and gain insight into our place in the universe.

Cost

  • $200 inc GST per session with 30 students.
  • $300 inc GST per session with 60 students.
  • $400 inc GST per session with 90 students.

NSW Syllabus Outcomes: Science and Technology

A student

  • describes how relationships between the sun and the Earth cause regular changes ST2-9ES.
  • A student describes how discoveries by people from different cultures and times have contributed to advancing scientific understanding of the solar system ST3-8ES.

Requirements for this excursion

On booking, we will send out a materials list that details the experiments that you will run in your classroom. These inexpensive science materials are readily accessible in any supermarket and make the video conference more interactive and engaging for students. Please check these details carefully.
A tax invoice will be forwarded on to you for your school administration.
Please let us know dates and times that fit you and we will create a session that fits your schedule.
