Students will gain an appreciation of the complexity of the human body and life in this fun school science workshop! Students will learn about the major body systems and how the five senses work. Importantly, they will learn how their actions can affect their body.

Where is heat in your body conserved? How do the lungs work? What happens to food when I swallow?
This workshop also covers basic hygiene practices, nutrition, reflexes, inheritance and the components of skin, blood, hair and more.

Price

  • $200 inc GST per session with 30 students.
  • $300 inc GST per session with 60 students.
  • $400 inc GST per session with 90 students.

NSW  K – 6 PDHPE Syllabus Content:
A student:

  • recognises that positive health choices can promote well-being (PHS1.12)
  • discusses the factors influencing personal health choices (PHS2.12)
  • explains the consequences of personal lifestyle choices (PHS3.12)
  • discusses the relationship between regular and varied physical activity and health (ALS2.6).

NSW Science Syllabus Outcomes:
A student:

  • describes that living things have life cycles, can be distinguished from non-living things and grouped, based on their observable features (ST2-10LW).
  • describes how structural features and other adaptations of living things help them to survive in their environment (ST3-10LW).

Requirements for this excursion

On booking, we will send out a materials list that details the experiments that you will run in your classroom. These inexpensive science materials are readily accessible in any supermarket and make the video conference more interactive and engaging for students. Please check these details carefully.
A tax invoice will be forwarded on to you for your school administration.
Please let us know dates and times that fit you and we will create a session that fits your schedule.
