Discovering Pesach, the Festival of Freedom (Stage 2, Stage 3)
Mar

Ever wondered about the Jewish festival of Pesach? What is Matzah? And why is a story about slavery in Egypt thousands of years ago relevant to us today?
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
The Sydney Jewish Museum invites your primary students to a complimentary live and interactive Pesach workshop, facilitated by a Museum Educator. This 45-minute online program will introduce students to the traditions and symbolism associated with this important festival.
DURING THE WORKSHOP, STUDENTS WILL:
Discover what Pesach is and why it is celebrated.
Learn what foods are traditionally eaten – what foods are avoided – and why.
See and uncover the meaning of the Seder and the Seder Plate.
Understand how the story of freedom from slavery is relevant to us today.
