In this free digital talk for schools, Sami Bayly talks about the world’s weird and wonderful animals to celebrate World Environment Day and World Oceans Day.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
Sami Bayly is a natural history illustrator who loves all things weird and wonderful. She is the author of The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Peculiar Pairs and other award-winning encyclopaedias. Her distinctive illustrations blend vibrant watercolours with scientific drawing and offer children a unique perspective on wildlife.
Sami created these books as she finds the beauty and importance of all animals regardless of their appearance, and wishes to share her appreciation with others. In this talk Sami Bayly talks about the world’s weird and wonderful animals to celebrate World Environment Day and World Oceans day, and the impacts of climate change.
If your students have a question that they would like to ask, you will have the opportunity to record it and send it in for Sami to answer on the day. Questions will need to be received by Sydney Opera House no later than Monday 30th of May. Further instructions on how to do this will be sent to you upon booking.
