Book Week 2022: Danger, drama, action! How to write great adventure stories (Stage 2, Stage 3)
Aug

Write an exhilarating adventure story and learn how to use writing techniques to keep readers on the edge of their seats.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
In this quickfire writing workshop, students develop an adventure story featuring a flawed, underdog main character, whose abilities will be challenged by an escalating series of obstacles built to challenge them. We’ll discuss why perfect characters are boring, how to use a ‘plot mountain’ for story structure and how to use writing techniques to keep readers on the edge of their seats.
Students will need a pencil and paper for this session.
Please print a copy of the worksheet for each student to use during the workshop.
