Camp Canberra Virtual Experience – with author Krys Saclier (Stage 2, Stage 3)

Live Event
06
Sep

Join Vote 4 Me and Camp Canberra author Krys Saclier as we explore Canberra, engage in a Q&A, plus take a whirlwind trip to visit some our most well known museums.

ACTIVITY OUTLINE:

Students will have the opportunity to hear Krys read from her highly engaging and informative picture book Camp Canberra, as well as ask her questions. As part of this experience we will connect with some of the museums across the National Capital including the Parliamentary Education Office, National Portrait Gallery and Museum of Australian Democracy to explore  objects, artworks and spaces.

This is a fantastic hook into exploring Civics and Citizenship.

IS THIS A FREE EVENT? Yes

BROUGHT TO YOU BY: Museum of Australian Democracy

SPECIAL GUESTS:

Krys Saclier is a Canberra based author who has worked as a primary school teacher and electoral educator, demonstrating Australia’s federal voting system to thousands of school children. She has written for television, radio and press and is the creator of the Kids Only podcast, which features original short audio stories for children.

Her third picture book, Camp Canberra, folllows the adventures of the students of Mt Mayhem Primary as they visit the attractions of the national capital, learning about government, history and roundabouts. Hilariously illustrated once again by the award winning political cartoonist, Cathy Wilcox, who brings the students to life in an engaging photgraphic collage.

To find out more about Krys visit her website.
