Join us at Questacon for a chat with Corey Tutt from DeadlyScience to celebrate the launch of his book The First Scientists: Deadly Inventions and Innovations from Australia’s First Peoples!
This highly anticipated, illustrative science book for 7-12 year olds explores the many deadly feats – from bush medicine to bush trackers – that are today considered ‘science’. It also tells the story of many Deadly scientists, both past and present!
Corey Tutt is a proud Kamilaroi man with a love of science and Country. Corey is the CEO and founder of DeadlyScience – an initiative that provides science books and early reading material to kids in remote schools in Australia. DeadlyScience has provided over 16,000 culturally appropriate STEM books, over 500 telescopes and other STEM resources to Australian communities. Corey was recognised as the 2020 NSW Young Australian of the Year and has recently been awarded the Eureka STEM Inclusion Prize along with the DeadlyScience team.
