Backyard buddies– with author Andy Geppert (Early Stage 1, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)

  28-Feb-2023      12:00PM
Live Event
28
Feb

Join Backyard Buddies author Andy Geppert as we discover some of the fascinating animals living in your backyard, consider simple everyday ways we can care for them, and engage in a live Q&A.

ACTIVITY OUTLINE:

Students will have the opportunity to hear Andy read from his fantastic picture book Backyard Buddies, as well as ask him questions about being a published author and illustrator.

Both Backyard Buddies and Australian Backyard Birdies are a delightful mix of humour with accessible factual information for young people. Students will be drawn to the adorable illustrations, visual details estimating size and location coupled with just the right amount of information to hook them into wanting to know more.

As part of this experience the MoAD education team will help students inquire into many simple ways they can support backyard buddies at home, school or in their local community.

Those who register will go into the draw to win one of five Boffin Boxes!

A one-of-a-kind crafty kit plus a signed copy of Backyard Buddies! The kit contains a flower press, a container of vegetable seeds for attracting ladybugs and some flower seeds to bring in those fancy-looking butterflies.
