Backyard birdies– with author Andy Geppert (Early Stage 1, Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3)
Aug

Join Backyard Buddies and Backyard Birdies author Andy Geppert as we learn about some fascinating local birds, how to support them to thrive, as well as engage in a live drawing and Q&A session.
ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
As part of this special Book Week digital event students will have the opportunity to hear Andy read from his fantastic picture book Australian Backyard Birdies, and participate in a live drawing session. Students will also be able to ask Andy questions about being a published author and illustrator.
Both Backyard Buddies and Australian Backyard Birdies are a delightful mix of humour with accessible factual information for young people. Students will be drawn to the adorable illustrations, visual details estimating size and location coupled with just the right amount of information to hook them into wanting to know more.
As part of this experience the MoAD education team will help students inquire into many simple ways they can support backyard birdies at home, school or in their local community.
