ACTIVITY OUTLINE:
A high energy & engaging 30-minute live stream incursion for Years 3 – 4 students, hosted by experienced teachers Marty & Laura. You’ll meet Noah, Zoe and Ava and follow along as they navigate uncomfortable feelings online. Students will have the opportunity to interact via Kahoot quizzing!
Students will learn to:
- understand what is cyberbullying
- navigating uncomfortable situations.

Martin McGauran or Marty is a primary school teacher and educational consultant with over 12 years of experience in schools. He is a qualified teacher, holds a Masters of Education (ICT & Digital Learning) and is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator. In 2018 he co-founded Tech In Edu Magazine which is a publication that supports effective and innovative teaching and learning with technology.
Marty’s passion for cyber safety comes from his extensive experience in leadership roles within primary schools. He shares insights to inform parents of the many apps, websites and safety measures that impact young people in a digital world.

Presenter Bio
Martin McGauran (Marty) is a primary school teacher and educational consultant with over 12 years of experience in schools. He is a qualified teacher, holds a Masters of Education (ICT & Digital Learning), and is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator. In 2017 he co-founded Inform & Empower.
Marty’s passion for online safety & digital citizenship comes from his extensive experience in leadership roles within primary schools. He is equally passionate about engaging with students, teachers, and parents/carers.
Laura Adcock brings with her 10 years of classroom experience as well as her Masters of Learning Intervention. She co-presents the Year ¾ & ⅚ live streamed incursions whilst also creating the curriculum resources to support teachers in getting the most out of their partnership with Inform & Empower.

Technology and Materials Requirements
Upon registration, teachers will get a join link to Inform and Empower’s Cybermarvel website where the YouTube live stream will be on in October. Teachers can also add the date and time to their calendars from the acknowledgment email.
It is recommended that students have devices at the ready with Kahoot open and ready to join. Students should join in pairs or small groups and not play individually.
NSW teachers – please ensure if you are logged into YouTube using your DoE login that you turn off restricted mode. This will allow you to watch YouTube Live and access Ollie Online’s virtual classroom.
